TRAINING
Training is undertaken at the Cleddau amateur radio society, while you do not have to hold an amateur radio licence to be a member of Pembrokeshire RAYNET, the whole idea of RAYNET is to help with communication in the case of emergency. Since the beginning of 2002 amateur radio has undergone a major reorganisation with the introduction of three new amateur radio licences, the foundation, intermediate and advanced. you must first take the foundation licence before going on to take the intermediate and then the advanced. The foundation licence being the lowest level it comes, with some restrictions e.g. you cannot pass on third party traffic, so it is important for you to pass on to the intermediate level. Foundation and intermediate classes are freely available from the Cleddau amateur radio society see their website at www.cleddau-ars.org.uk. or contact:-
